Professional Web Design & SEO Services for the London Fashion Industry

In the film “The Devil Wears Prada” there is classic piece of dialogue spoken by the fashion editor, Miranda Priestly, played by Meryl Streep. Responding to the comment made by the naïve, aspiring journalist, Andy Sachs (played by Anne Hathaway) with regards to designer-labelled clothes simply being referred to as ‘stuff’, she expounds:

“This... 'stuff'? Oh... ok, I see. You think this has nothing to do with you. You go to your closet and you select out, oh I don't know, that lumpy blue sweater, for instance, because you're trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back. But what you don't know is that that sweater is not just blue, it's not turquoise, it's not lapis, it's actually cerulean. You're also blithely unaware of the fact that in 2002, Oscar de la Renta did a collection of cerulean gowns. And then I think it was Yves St Laurent, wasn't it, who showed cerulean military jackets? I think we need a jacket here. And then cerulean quickly showed up in the collections of 8 different designers. Then it filtered down through the department stores and then trickled on down into some tragic casual corner where you, no doubt, fished it out of some clearance bin. However, that blue represents millions of dollars and countless jobs and so it's sort of comical how you think that you've made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry when, in fact, you're wearing the sweater that was selected for you by the people in this room: from a pile of ‘stuff’.”

Affordable E-Commerce Web Solutions for London Fashion Shops

So, what has all this got to do with web design? Well, this ‘pile of stuff’ is what makes the UK fashion industry (clothing and footwear), estimated value £50bn (source: researchandmarkets.com). Yes, the credit crunch has forced consumers to tighten their purse strings, but not to the point where they have stopped spending altogether.

If you are part of the fashion industry, and in particular a retailer, we are certain you will be intent on taking the necessary steps to increase your sales and help yourself to a profitable slice of the lucrative fashion pie.

To do this you must seek out savvy online customers who are looking for online bargains. This can be achieved through a combination of affordable e-commerce web solutions and customised internet marketing.

Innovative Web Design for Modelling Agencies, Fashion Labels, Designers & Retailers

As London web designers, we value the importance aesthetics play in every website we invent and build.

Lots of ‘stuff’ goes into designing a fashion website, but two items stand out the most: the clothes / accessories, and the models that wear them. Unlike ‘Andy Sachs’, we take our industry seriously (but not too seriously). If you are having fun designing clothes and accessories, placing models, promoting designers or selling clothes, then we are certain we are going to have fun creating an online home for your commercial fashion endeavours.

PSP can produce visually stunning and affordable web design for fashion labels, fashion designers, models, modelling agencies, high street stores and boutiques.
